MAKEUP
This makeup that I have on
It’s to cover up my face
So the real me is like a treasure
Hidden without a trace
I put on these many colors
So that it’s hard to see
That deep beneath these layers
Lies pure insecurity
At times I start to wonder
And even start to fear
That when I’m ready to come clean
The real me won’t be here
So stay with me my dear friend
I promise to come clean
And when you see the real me
Please try not to be mean
This makeup may come of my face
But I’ll keep it in hand
I just may need it someday
Please try to understand
